President

Even though tasks differ from week to week, this overview provides some insights into what it is like to be the President of the 60th Board of FAECTOR. While the role involves many meetings, speaking at events, and signing paperwork, these activities actually take up less than 50% of the time. Being the President of FAECTOR comes with many more responsibilities, opportunities, and privileges. Most importantly, the President is responsible for the general well-being of the association, creating a comfortable and inspiring working environment for fellow board members, and watching over the long-term goals of the association.

One of the highlights of being President is that it involves a lot of communication. Serving as a trusted contact for fellow board members means they will come to you with their problems and concerns, as well as for casual conversation. Since the President represents the members, it is important to talk to them regularly. Conveniently, members visit the FAECTOR office often, offering great opportunities to chit-chat. Through this, you get to know a little bit about everything, which is one of the distinct privileges of the role.

Communication is also central to the various meetings you will attend. At the weekly board meetings, the President is responsible for setting the agenda and ensuring everything runs smoothly. Additionally, you will attend meetings with the Supervisory Board and external parties like the Convent (representing all ESE study associations), KORF (representing all university-wide faculty associations), and LOES (representing all econometrics associations in the Netherlands). You will also chair two General Assemblies of Members (GAMs) of FAECTOR during the year.

Finally, the President supervises the City Trip Committee, which organises a weekend-long trip to a city somewhere in Europe. You also supervise the Internal Activities Committee, which is responsible for all events for Active Members, including the Active Member Weekend. Together with this committee, you will serve as the backbone of the community for all committee members within FAECTOR.
